Ingathering, Water Communion & Blessing of the Backpacks

Sermon: Wild Water Rafting Lessons

At the end of each summer, we celebrate coming back to church with our Ingathering Service. This service will include Water Communion, a special ritual to celebrate how our individual lives come together into one large container. Most years the separation is simply a few weeks or months of summer travels, but this year it is a reunion after years of pandemic keeping us apart. We will collect water from each member of the church in a common bowl  We will also bless the backpacks for our children returning to school and we will celebrate our community. It will be good to be together!

Be sure to bring a non-perishable food item for the Pantry Collection that the children will do during the service, bring a small container of water from someplace that has renewed your spirit these past few months, (anywhere from the ocean to your kitchen sink!), and kids- bring your school backpacks!

We welcome you to join us in person.
