On this Easter Sunday, we will have a guest speaker Rev. Stephani Skalak, who says “The story of Jesus’s death and resurrection contains universal truths about empire and oppression, about despair and hope, about love, loss, and life after tragedy. These truths can resonate with our lives today in ways both personal and political.” Rev. Skalak is a chaplain and Unitarian Universalist minister from Portland. Her ministry is rooted in compassionate curiosity and the lifelong practice of reaching across difference to co‑create meaning. Her calling, whether in the parish or at the bedside, is to help people find meaning in the midst of uncertainty and to accompany them with courage, tenderness, and a deep trust in our shared humanity.
