10:00am Children’s RE Children’s religious education programs (downstairs).
10:50am “Morning Songs” Join us for ten minutes of singing prior to the “regular” service. The words will be projected overhead and the songs will be singable by adults and kids — some old favorites, some new, led by our music director and members of the choir.
11:00am Sunday Service (See below for speakers & topics).
12:00pm “Coffee Time” We invite you to remain after the service for coffee and conversation.
12:15pm “Reverberations” If you’d like to share, have questions, need further explanation, etc.

Unitarian Universalist services are similar to most other churches. There are readings and hymns, often live instrumental or choral music. There is a time for people to share significant events in their lives. There is often a story for children early in the service, before they leave the sanctuary for childcare downstairs. You are welcome to visit and to explore with us. Wear whatever makes you comfortable!

Beltane – Celebrate Spring!

Gone is the snow of December’s Winter Solstice; spring is here! This means a relief from the cold, dark days of winter. As the days lengthen and get warmer, we are greeted by the rebirth of the earth itself: bulbs come up and bloom, filling the air with their heady, tempting fragrance; birds chirp and sing as they return from their winter migrations to build their nests; cats yowl out their urgent readiness for motherhood. All around us are symbols of fertility, growth, warmth and light.

Beltane is an old Celtic Fire Ritual, which celebrates, at the most fundamental level, the end of winter and the beginning of the warmer, lighter half of the year. Join us for a special Beltane celebration — complete with dancing around the May Pole!

Newcomer luncheon follows the service. more…

Reunions & Transitions!

Often we are chided for “resisting change.” Most people do not resist change. What we resist is transition. “Transition” and “change” are words that are often used as though they were synonymous, but they really aren’t.

Rev. Linda Pashby Kaufman is a chaplain in the Spiritual Care department at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, a Minister Affiliated at University Unitarian Church where she has been a member since 1988 and has a private Spiritual Direction practice.
