Fruits of a Spiritual Quest

Feb.7th the Jewish holiday “Tu B’Shvat”, literally, “the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Sh’vat”. Tu B’Shvat is the New Year of the Trees, when Jewish mystics imagined the sap rising in the trees again. Rabbi Falcon will address this ancient symbolism and its contemporary spiritual significance.

We will look at grace as a spiritual concept, practice of graceful living and the relationship between grace and forgiveness. Ira Hoover is a former Minister in the United Church of Christ, in Iowa, California and Washington (now retired) and father of our Music Director, Mark Hoover.

The Rainier Valley U.U. Marimba ensemble NZIRA will weave music from Zimbabwe with opportunities for participation and reflection on how music is rooted in our experience of everyday life.
