Northlake Fundraising Committee
The recently adopted budget for fiscal year 2009/10 includes $5000 in fundraising. If you’re like me, the thought of this word brings visions of lots of hard work for less-than-hoped-for rewards.
Please, don’t grab your hat and run for the nearest exit, or duct tape your arm to your side for fear volunteering yet again! The newly formed Fundraising Committee has lots of ideas, many of which require absolutely no expenditure of blood, sweat, or tears.
PCC Scrip
We have wallet cards/key tags loaded with $10 balances that can be used for any purchase at PCC. It’s like a pre-paid gift card or debit card. It can be recharged in any denomination over $50.00. Northlake will receive 5% of all money spent at PCC using the scrip. (told ya it was painless!)
Amazon.com Purchases
Do you shop at Amazon.com or Endless.com? If so, your purchases can earn money for Northlake. All you need to do is enter Amazon.com or Endless.com using special links. Every purchase helps — even small ones — and the more items that are purchased in a given month, the higher the percantage we recieve on all purchases. more…
Real Estate
G.G. Getz has generously offered to give Northlake 10% of any commission she receives through the sale or purchase of real estate if she is used as the agent for either a buyer or seller through a referral from a Northlake member. For example, if the selling price of a home is $500,000, Northlake will receive $1,500.
Holiday Wreaths/Poinsettias
We will be decorating the Sanctuary for the holidays with wreaths and poinsettias. Plan now to purchase one (or more) and you can take it to brighten your home during the third week of December.
Other possibilities include:
- A link to amazon.com from Northlake’s website. If you get to Amazon through us, we will receive 4% of any purchase.
- A Winter Concert Series to be held in the Chapel.
- A theater production.
- A holiday alternative giving/craft fair.
- Selling Entertainment books.
- An open mike/coffee house.
- Many, many more ideas!
The Fundraising Committee is enthusiastic and open to even the quirkiest ideas. Any funds generated beyond the $5000 budgeted amount will be used as seed money for future fundraising events. Help us create a vibrant, self-sustaining financial outlook!
